You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
A television adaptation of the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" (1967) by Clark Gesner, which was itself an adaptation of the comic strip "Peanuts". The episodic plot focuses on the interactions of various characters and their awareness of their own problems. Charlie Brown is too shy to express his feelings for the Little Red-Haired Girl, even on Valentine's Day. Through observation alone, he learns that the girl has a number of her own quirks. Charlie gets the impression that Patty has a crush on him, but she denies it. Lucy Van Pelt deals with her unrequited love for Schroeder, painfully aware that her would-be boyfriend mostly ignores her. Linus Van Pelt tries and fails to give up his security blanket, still hoping that he will eventually outgrow the need to hold it to feel safe. Lucy has to give pep-talks to the insecure Charlie, though she still charges him whenever he asks for her advice. Snoopy daydreams about being a war pilot, though he notices that even his dreams end with his defeat.
