In this comic thriller, wealthy Maxine de la Hunt (Jean Simmons) is worried about what might happen to her step-daughter Marigold (Lea Thompson) as she goes on vacation in Denmark. So Maxine hires private detective Henry Brilliant (Chris Lemmon) to watch over Marigold. However, Brilliant hardly lives up to his name, and before long he's discovers she's been kidnapped.
