Rosette Burgod (Cleo Ridgely), a provincial French lass with a talent for dancing, is lured to Paris by stage star Louis (Lou Tellegen). Upon finding out that Louis' intentions are not entirely honorable, Rosette walks out on him and tries to find work on her own. But the best she can do is a job as a dancer in a seedy dive which happens to be the headquarters of a criminal gang known as The Frogs. Despite this handicap, she manages to achieve success, while her would-be seducer Louis falls from grace thanks to a campaign of vengeance conducted by an ex-mistress. Having seen the light, Louis becomes a minister, and it is in this capacity that he once more crosses paths with Rosette -- and, in the process, restores her long-dormant faith in the Almighty. At this point, the film should have come to an end, but the producers decided to drag in a whole new plot tangent involving the war in Europe (no wonder the picture required the services of two directors!)
