Produced by Gower Gulch regular Benjamin F. Wilson and co-directed by Francis Ford, the older brother of John Ford, this 15 chapter Western serial starred a very young Jack Hoxie, a former rodeo rider who was positioning himself to become the next cowboy star. Hoxie's wife, Marin Sais played the leading lady and the serial became a true family occasion when producer Wilson cast Jack's half-brother Al Hoxie as Marin's brother. Christian J. Frank added much to the serial as Bull Flint, Hoxie's villainous neighbor, and the always hissable Steve Clemente played Manuel Garcia, Flint's nasty first lieutenant. Following Thunderbolt Jack, Jack Hoxie appeared in series Westerns for both Wilson and the even lower-ranked Anthony J. Xydias but didn't become a true Western star until signing with Universal in 1923.
