A kitschy, absurdist comedy in three unconnected episodes, this odd-ball, erratic film by John Paizs is occasionally amusing and inventive, though it is not for everyone's tastes. In the first story, a young man is out to pick up a woman, any woman. He joins a party where he spots a damsel in hot pink with platinum hair and whisks her off to a motel room. His romantic interlude is dashed when she literally passes dead away in his arms. In the next, more lively story, a narrator with a fake Swedish accent does a take-off on a travelog of Greenland, focusing on the preparations for an annual spring rite that quickly changes into a pool party. In the last, least-successful vignette, a labyrinthian plot focuses on how to steal a secret formula. Paizs is featured in all but the last of these idiosyncratic stories.

Gellert Grindelwald has escaped imprisonment and has begun gathering followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one capable of putting a stop to him is the wizard he once called his closest friend, Albus Dumbledore. However, Dumbledore will need to seek help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
