William Desmond stars as Jules Ingraham, the last surviving member of an old and highly respected New England family. Unable to live up to the lofty moral standards set by his ancestors, Jules crawls into a bottle. He sells all of his precious family heirlooms for liquor money then is booted out of the ancestral mansion by a vengeful banker. Jules is rescued by Mercy Reed (Margery Wilson) a fellow "outcast" who has successfully changed her wicked ways. With Mercy at his side, Jules rebuilds his life, reputation and fortune when he unexpectedly strikes oil out West. Last of the Ingrahams adhered to Triangle Pictures' motto "Clean Pictures for Clean People" -- which many wags re-translated as "Dull Pictures for Dull People."
