Giorgio Mainardi, facing debts and cut off from his wife's money, hires the Killer to murder Norma and disguise her disappearance as a kidnapping. He arranges the killing, the use of his Mercedes, and false ransom calls, then returns home and reassures Norma while preparing an alibi. After the Killer gains entry to the house and attacks Norma, he places her body in the Mercedes and leaves after removing traces of his presence. Before he can complete the plan, Luca and Laura steal the car without knowing what is in the trunk, drawing the Killer into a pursuit that carries the couple toward an isolated seaside villa.
