Taking the rap for her sister, who spent the night with a lecherous travelling salesman, Jane Lawson (Alice Brady) is booted out of her family home. She relocates to New York and takes a job at the very store where the troublesome salesman is employed. Catching the eye of the boss' son, Jane marries him, only to find out that her new husband is a drink-sodden jellyfish. He heads to Alaska for a "rest cure," with the salesman -- who turns out not to be such a bad guy -- financing the trip. Unable to straighten himself out, Jane's husband ends up as the guest of honor at a lynching party. Though understandably upset by her hubby's demise, our heroine is comforted by the fact that the salesman is now in love with her, an affection she willingly reciprocates. "Tangled" is right.
