Maksim, successful businessman doesn't give a second thought when his wife, a journalist of great renown, gets a new assignment and sets out for a forsaken far away village. During the Soviet times, the village had served as the base for a classified scientific research facility, entrusted with the development of a «Happiness vitamin» in an attempt to create the man of the future. After USSR collapsed, the research was suspended and the facility shut down. But the people, on a visit to the island, continued to vanish into thin air. Two weeks after the departure of his wife, Maksim receives a letter from her, reading: «Do not look for me! I've found my happiness...». Shocked by the news, the protagonist leaves everything behind to go searching for his wife. Having researched the village and spoken to the locals, Maksim is left shaken and stirred as he realizes that there is more to this village than meets the eye. Sinister and out-of-this-world things are going on here...
