Turn Left at the End of the World
In the late 1960s, Sara and her family arrive from India hoping to start a new life in Israel. Instead of settling in the centre of the country, they are sent to an isolated Negev town populated mostly by Moroccan Jewish immigrants. Friction grows between the groups, whose attachments to British and French cultures fuel mutual prejudice. Sara befriends Nicole, a Moroccan teenager living nearby, and the two navigate sexual awakening, romance and family expectations. As their parents struggle with disappointment and cultural differences, a cricket team creates unexpected common ground. The girls' friendship and the community's shared experiences gradually challenge the divisions that have kept their families apart.
