Tel Aviv, 1989. Boaz, a personable good-looking young man to who many people are attracted, is a university Linguistics student. He lives with Noa, his girlfriend of one year, they still at a sexually playful stage of their relationship. Boaz is waiting to hear about a scholarship for a program in Jerusalem, he dutifully stopping at the post office every day hoping for that scholarship letter so that he and Noa can make arrangements to move, the potential move despite Noa's own secret aspirations of schooling in architecture in Haifa. What he instead receives is a series of anonymous letters, the lonely writer obsessed and arguably in love with him, and seemingly knowing much about him, including his day-to-day routine. Boaz cannot help but wonder who his secret admirer is, he going through his days taking longer looks at people who look at him, looking for clues hidden in those letters to the people he encounters. However, what he begins to do is look harder at men more than women as his secret admirer, and cannot help but think back to his time in the army and his friendship with fellow soldier, Nir. Boaz's obsession with the letters and its writer affects his relationship with Noa, who can feel that something is different beyond Boaz's nervous anticipation of the scholarship notification.
