Hutchinson Rimes owns and operates his own insurance company. Hutch is a womanizer, as he enters into one affair after another regardless of his own marital status at the time, and regardless of his fling's marital status, although in many respects she being married makes it easier for him in it being more casual and less committed. He frequently dips his toe close to home with women who work for him, his proverbial lunch meetings really being afternoon delights with the staffer at the time at the Sleep Easy Motel. But she being married also complicates matters in he having to deal with her domestic issues, in one case with an abusive husband, and ten years later in another case with a jealous husband. These two cases intersect at the same time as at the time of the respective affairs each woman asked Hutch to help her kill her husband, and as her domestic issues lead to the risk of Hutch's livelihood and life.
