Filmmaker Randy Olson offers a funny look at a very serious subject in this mock documentary. Olson (playing himself) wants to make a film about global warming, but is having trouble raising the money to finance the project, and the path doesn't get much smoother when he's approach by Mitch (Mitch Silpa) and Brian (Brian Clark), a pair of very gay would-be producers who have money to spend but are more interested in meeting celebrities than confronting the issues. Randy reluctantly joins forces with Mitch and Brian, and hires a cameraman Marion (Alex Thomas) and sound engineer Antwon (Ifeanyi Njoku) to help him shoot interviews with a number of scientists on both sides of the global warming debate. It soon becomes obvious that Marion already has some strong opinions on the issue, and he isn't at all reluctant to share his views during the course of interviews, verbally sparring with Jerry Meehl as he explains why global warming is a clear and present danger and offering encouragement to Patrick J. Michaels as he presents a more skeptical view of the scientific consensus. Sizzle features an original score by former Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member John McEuen.
