Jutka works as a laborer in a textile factory. At a party, she meets András, a student from a wealthy family. Out of shame, she pretends to be his equal. When she realizes she has fallen in love with him, she decides to tell him the truth. But when she meets his family, she feels compelled to lie again in order to make a good impression.
