This Western does its best to play up the persecution suffered by American Indians -- or, at least, one American Indian in particular. Of course, since it was made in 1925, none of the leads were played by actual Native Americans. Thunder Cloud (John Lowell), a Sioux Indian, is college educated, but when he is framed for a murder, he is forced to flee and live on the plains. To make a living he becomes a horse thief. Meanwhile, Starlight (Evangeline Russell), the daughter of Sheriff La Verne, a white man (William Calhoun), and his Sioux wife (Anne Brody), returns from college with James Logan (F. Serrano Keating), who she intends to marry. Logan joins the Indian police, and Thunder Cloud is shot while returning some horses. Starlight takes care of him, and he falls in love with her. A scar reveals that Logan is actually Thunder Cloud's brother, Little Antelope. The man Thunder Cloud supposedly killed turns out to be alive, and he goes back to leading an honest life -- with Starlight by his side..
