In October of 1983, US Military personnel served as peacekeepers in Lebanon during the Lebanese Civil War, and as rescuers on the Caribbean island of Grenada. In two different conflicts, with two very different results, lives were lost, heroes made, and countless lives changed. In observance of the 40th Anniversary of these military engagements, Virginia veterans share their personal, emotional, tragic, and heroic stories.
