Daphne Bretton (Mildred Harris Chaplin) is a young woman who is sent to boarding school by her father Jaffrey (John Sainpolis) when her mother decides to pursue a career as an opera singer. The family's wealth allows her to enter a fine facility, and she soon meets a nice young man. Through an innocent mix-up, the boy is found in her room a midnight and Daphne is expelled by the headmistress. The local paper prints the news of the scandal and Daphne returns home to her father with her reputation destroyed. Jaffrey listens carefully as she tearfully proclaims her innocence. The loving father takes her in once again in a gesture of paternal concern and forgiveness in this sentimental drama.
