November

Shortly after the Islamist attacks on the Parisian satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, the French capital is shaken by a series of further serious terrorist attacks. The attacks on November 13, 2015, take place simultaneously in several locations-at the Stade de France soccer stadium, where a game is being played, and in the city center, where people are attacked on café terraces. The worst hit was a well-attended concert at the Bataclan club. In the end, more than 100 people were dead, murdered on their own doorsteps, at home, where they felt safe, going about their daily lives. The anti-terrorism unit "Sdat" and the internal security services immediately sprang into action. Sdat investigator Fred (Jean Dujardin) has just returned from Athens, where he failed to apprehend Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a wanted terrorist. His team, led by Héloïse (Sandrine Kiberlain), works feverishly to identify, track down, and arrest the Paris attackers. The investigators only get their first hot lead when Samia (Lyna Khoudri), a young woman from the suburb of Saint-Denis, comes forward as a witness to the police. She claims that her cousin Hasna (Sarah Afchain) is in contact with one of the suspects, a cousin. The clues lead to a meeting place for migrants, homeless people, and junkies under a bridge on the A86 motorway. In order not to jeopardize the operation, the police and "Sdat" do not want to reveal prematurely that they are on the trail of the perpetrators. There is also no concrete clue as to the whereabouts of the main suspect. Inès (Anaïs Demoustier) wires Samia's apartment. Samia is supposed to question Hasna so that the investigators can find out where her cousin is. On November 18, five days after the attacks, the time has come. "Sdat" and heavily armed special forces storm a house in Saint-Denis at dawn.
