"Mourir à 30 ans" (Half a life) is a deeply personal black-and-white documentary in which Romain Goupil revisits his political coming-of-age and his friendship with activist Michel Recanati. Blending archival Super 8 footage with later reflections, the film follows their radicalization from the mid-1960s-opposing the Vietnam War and joining the Revolutionary Communist Youth - through the upheavals of May 1968 and the turbulent political climate of the early 1970s, tracing more than a decade of friendship and militant idealism.
