A movie house in Paris is home to a violent lunatic in this darkly comic thriller from director and co-screenwriter Laurent Achard. Sylvain (Pascal Cervo) works at a small repertory theater where he serves as projectionist, janitor, ticket taker, and maintenance man. The theater attracts a small but devoted clientele, including Manon (Charlotte van Kemmel), a lovely would-be actress infatuated with Sylvain, but she's unaware that he has a secret: Sylvain lives in the basement of the theater and has a large collection of movie star portraits that he's fleshing out with real flesh. Sylvain is a serial killer who has been murdering women and using their ears to decorate his photographs, and while the police have so far been unable to identify the fiend, the theater owner's recent decision to sell his property could reveal the truth about Sylvain. Meanwhile, flashbacks examine the grim relationship between Sylvain and his mother (Karole Rocher), who also has an unhealthy obsession with the movies. Derniere Seance (aka Last Screening) was an official selection at the 2011 London BFI Film Festival.
