In their youth a young girl and boy are lovers , but are frustrated as financial difficulties of the girl's father cause her to have to wed a wealthy man in order for her father to hold his position in life. They meet again in later years and carry on their love in clandestine fashion but even this is denied them because of circumstances. The lover joins the air, after years in the Savoy Lancers, and he soon meets death in the war.
