Lady and the Tramp Reviews

This animated Disney classic tells the tale of Lady, a prim and proper cocker spaniel who falls in love with Tramp, a ragged mutt. When Lady runs away from her owner and is pursued by tough dogs in a bad neighborhood, Tramp rescues her. The two dogs spend a night on the town, which includes the memorable spaghetti-eating scene in which both Lady and Tramp eat the same strand, their mouths drawn closer and closer until at last they kiss. Lady is furious with Tramp when they end up in the pound after being caught raiding a chicken coup, but by the finale they are happily raising their own litter of pups. Disney's first CinemaScope cartoon, LADY AND THE TRAMP cost $4,000,000 and took three years to complete, but it grossed over $25,000,000, making more money than any other film from the 1950s except THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and BEN-HUR.
