The film focuses on the downfall and internal struggle of Pablo Galván (played by Infante), an illiterate, alcoholic drifter. Pablo is a, melancholic character wandering aimlessly, trapped in a "hell of alcoholism". He moves from place to place, breaking the hearts of the women he encounters and failing to form lasting, stable relationships.
