Johnson is hired by a wealthy widow to help assemble some erotic papers of her late husband, a general, but first he must help the widow and her daughter get rid of Fabrizio, who currently holds the position of historian in the household. Johnson is at once struck by the beauty of the daughter, Schiaffino, and they fall in love, arousing a jealous rage in Fabrizio, her lover. Johnson accidentally kills his rival, and the two women help him dispose of the body. It is then that Schiaffino's passion for Johnson dies out, and he discovers she is a witch who has already hired another man to replace him. Before he meets the same fate as Fabrizio, he destroys Schiaffino by fire.
