A doctor opens a clinic for assisted suicide, but discovers that death prefers to work alone in this pitch black comedy from Belguim. An outspoken advocate of assisted suicide, Dr. Kruger (Aurélien Recoing) believes that the law should not prevent a person from taking their own life. In order to provide terminal patients with a comfortable opportunity to end their suffering on their own terms, Dr. Kruger opens a controversial clinic situated deep in the serine mountains. Before long, the patients are flooding in: there's the stand-up comic with terminal cancer, the traveling salesman with a checkered past, the compulsive gamber who lost his wife in a poker game, and the aged Berlin cabaret singer whose voice has been lost to the ravages of time. But before Dr. Kruger can assist in their suicides, he needs to consult with each patient in order to ensure they are of sound mind, and help to arrange their final requests. Unfortunately for Dr. Kruger's long-suffering patients, death isn't exactly willing to play by the rules.
