In Aquilea, a Buenos Aires-like city, mysterious invaders quietly take over. Don Porfirio leads a small resistance group whose goal is only to delay them, not defeat them. As members are eliminated one by one, Julián Herrera begins to doubt their mission and longs for escape with his fiancee, Irene-who is secretly involved as well. The film ultimately portrays the invasion as inevitable, making the resistance a symbolic, nearly futile struggle.
