Jan Dunn's drama Gypo concerns a blue-collar British couple named Helen and Paul (Pauline McLynn and Paul McGann) who each find daily life a chore. When their daughter befriends a young woman from Czechoslovakia, the new friend has a positive impact on Helen, while her foreignness causes Paul to react negatively to her presence.
