Drag artist Jules, also known as Aphrodite Banks, humiliates Preston - who has a criminal record - in front of his friends after Preston makes a homophobic slur, and is subsequently brutally beaten by him. When Jules happens to run into his attacker three months later at a gay sauna, he hatches a plan for revenge and begins dating Preston, who doesn't recognize Jules without his costume. Jules plans to force Preston to come out online using hidden sex tapes, but his risky scheme is repeatedly thwarted by Preston's ever-present clique, led by his petty-criminal roommate Oz. A secret romantic relationship develops between Jules and Preston, in which Jules increasingly takes control.
