After the birth of his daughter, Cynthia, a Parisian horse butcher finds himself abandoned and solely responsible for her. As Cynthia grows into adolescence, the butcher's life remains unchanged--a monotonous cycle of tedious repetition. Everything changes when Cynthia reaches puberty. Following a traumatic incident, the butcher is caught in a downward spiral of blind rage and uncontrollable violence, destroying what little dignity and future he had left.
