Hannah Taylor Gordon takes the title role in this adaptation of Austrian journalist Melissa Muller's 1998 Anne Frank biography. Unlike the 1959 film "The Diary of Anne Frank," this TV-drama follows the Franks to the death camps, from which only father Otto (Ben Kingsley) returned alive. As it opens, though, the Franks are well-to-do, and Anne is an outgoing teen who's anxious to grow up and likes to write. But the Nazis are making life increasingly precarious for Amsterdam Jews.
