Nellie, the heroine of this picture, having been wooed and won by a young bank clerk, is living in her first great joy of perfect happiness, unsuspicious of the danger that threatens them both because of the infatuation of another employee of the same bank where her fiancé is employed. She is suddenly awakened from her dream of happiness by the arrest of her loved one in her own home. This is caused principally by the accusation of the rejected suitor for her hand and heart. She believes her lover innocent, though confronted with what seems to be absolute proof of his guilt, as the stolen money was found upon her lover's person. It has been said that nothing shall be hid, no guilt so secret but what sooner or later shall be found out. This is clearly shown in this dramatic picture, and all through so slight a thing as the pricking of a thumb by a pin. The wrapper around the stolen bundle of bills has been tossed aside. It falls into Nellie's hands, the marks of a thumb print are visible upon its surface. With this evidence in her possession, a woman's love and devotion call forth the instinct of a trained detective, and by the trick of a decoy letter, a sensitized sheet of music and a woman's wit, the guilty party is found out. He proves to be her former suitor, and the picture culminates in the vindication of innocence and the condemnation of guilt.
