• Is entitled to be addressed as 'The Honourable Susan Nicholls' due to her father being appointed a life peer
• While appearing on Crossroads, she sang a song on the show that later appeared in the UK Singles Chart at number seventeen in 1968
• Sang between strip acts in a nightclub in Vienna in the early 1970s
• In 1976, toured America and Canada with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the play London Assurance, ending with a six-week run on Broadway
• Played the role of Audrey Roberts in Coronation Street on a recurring basis from 1979 and joined the cast permanently in 1985

• In 2011, a nurse noticed a mole on Sue's shoulder while watching Coronation Street and contacted the show - it was later confirmed to be cancer and she had the mole removed
