The revamped version of One Life to Live made its online debut this week, so what exactly went down in Llanview? (Short answer: A lot!) Let's recap:
Are you ready to go back to Llanview? The online reboot of One Life to Live premieres Monday, more than 15 months after the soap's broadcast finale aired on ABC. So, what should fans expect from the new version? Will it still feel like the same show or will longtime viewers feel like something is off? And will new viewers be completely lost if they start watching now? We have answers to all your burning questions:
Victoria Lord Banks is back and she's kicking boo-tay! Prospect Park's revamp of One Life to Live — launching April 29 on The Online Network — will once again find the powerful publishing mogul, played by six-time Emmy winner Erika Slezak, running Llanview's top newspaper, The Banner. But times are tough. "We'll be looking at the fight that's going on in the publishing world these days — how do newspapers survive in the age of the internet?" says OLTL head writer Thom Racina.
Will General Hospital fans accept Michael Easton, Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson in brand new roles? They might have to! Multiple sources tell TV Guide Magazine that the trio of former One Life to Live stars — who've been embroiled in a tug-of-war between ABC and Prospect Park, the company that's producing the upcoming OLTL reboot — will soon return to GH after being forced to vacate the show for several weeks.
Some more familiar faces might be returning to One Life to Live for the soap's upcoming online revival — but is that bad news for General Hospital fans?
If soap opera characters can come back from the dead, why not the soaps themselves? After a highly hyped false start in 2011, production company Prospect Park is closer than ever to resurrecting ABC's All My Children (which went off the air in September 2011) and One Life to Live (which wrapped its run January 2012) and present them on a new Internet site, the OnLine Network.
Viewers said goodbye to Llanview Friday when One Life to Live ended after 44 years. Sure enough, the longtime ABC soap's final hour provided plenty of drama — including not one but two romantic reunions and a resurrection from the dead! In the episode's final moments, Vicki (Erika Slezak) and Clint (Jerry verDorn) reunited for good after Vicki learned that Clint was the father of Jessica. In another part of Llanview, Todd (Roger Howarth) and...
One Life to Live's Kassie DePaiva, Roger Howarth, Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson will soon be a part of General Hospital, where they'll reprise their characters, General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini announced Wednesday.
Vive la difference! Former General Hospital baddie Ted King is cleaning up his act and moving to One Life to Live on January 21 as a struggling Parisian artist simply known as Tomas. The mystery man's last name is hush-hush for now because it'll eventually be revealed that he's related to a certain someone in Llanview. He'll also be the new love interest for Blair Cramer, the heartbreak heroine played by Kassie DePaiva. The plot: Blair jets to Paris to track down Tomas — whom she's never met — to find out why he painted a portrait of her. It's not just any portrait, but one copied from a photo taken of Blair at one of her weddings to Todd (back when Roger Howarth was playing the role...cue the Howarth rumors!).
