• Began singing gospel when she was seven and performed with the Washington Performing Arts Societies "Children Of The Gospel Choir" and at President Clinton's second inauguration in 1997
• Debuted on Broadway in the National Tour of the musical Rent in 2007, playing Mimi
• Made her television debut guest starring in a 2011 episode of Castle, and has gone on to appear on the Hulu original series Deadbeat and on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
• Also performed in the original Broadway productions of Leap of Faith in 2012, Motown the Musical in 2013 and Big Fish in 2013
• Wrote a coming-of-age novel set in New York titled A Girl's Guide to Dealing with the Devil
