Has been a member of Exeter Harriers Athletics Club since 1987
Won Silver in the 5000m at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne
Won Gold in the 10,000m at the 2014 European Championships in Zurich, ten months after giving birth to her second child
In doing so, she became the oldest female European champion, at the age of 40 years and 325 days
Was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2015 for services to Athletics
Was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro - making her the first British runner and track athlete to appear at five Olympic Games
