• Starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End production of Whistle Down the Wind at the young age of 11
• Was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat when she was 11
• Was in a group called Soul Deep when she was 17
• Left Soul Deep to record her first solo album the same year, but the record label went bankrupt just before the release of her first single
• Had a minor stroke when she was 18, and doctors were not sure she would ever be able to walk or sing again
• Had written her first single "Do it Like a Dude" with Rihanna in mind, but ended up keeping it
• Does not have a stylist; likes to do her own make up and hair and find her own outfits that suit her special style
