• Was the 24th child of his parents, having one sister and 23 brothers
• Was only 3 years old when his father passed away while his mother had died during his birth
• Was the grandson of the Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan
• Had migrated to Bombay at age 18 with just Rupees 26 in his pocket
• Became a reflector boy in the studios of Mohan Sinha, who was Bollywood actress Vidya Sinha's grandfather
• Made his acting debut in the Bollywood film Fashionable India (1935) on being selected by filmmaker Mohan Sinha
• Has played the role of the heavenly messenger Narad Muni in more than 60 films
• Named his son Kiran which is also his wife's name
• Was fond of hunting, but gave up after a pregnant female deer was shot down by his companion at one of his expeditions
• Has contributed to feed the poor at Babaji ka darga and for the education of children
• Passed away on June 10, 1987 after being in coma for three days
