• Was told she may never walk again after being hit by a car at age 17; she recuperated after many months of physical therapy
• After high school, she taught English to foreign students Callan School of English in London
• On a whim, applied for a job with Channel 4, despite not having a background in broadcasting; she began presenting on T4 in 2009
• Supports the Cultural Learning Alliance, which promotes access to culture for children and young people
• Created her own version of SpongeBob SquarePants, for a Childline charity auction
• Wore a chicken suit for 16 days straight, in 2013, as part of a fundraising initiative for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day
