• Served as lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards; a regiment of the British Army, but was dismissed after he threw his commanding officer into a lake
• Attended the Countryside March in the UK to support hunting rights in 2002
• Made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003 for his services to theatre and British cinema
• Supported the restoration of The Royal Hall in Harrogate, since his great grandfather, Samson Fox, was the original benefactor in 1903
