Comic-Con: Shameless Stars on Nudity and Alcohol
They may not be the usual Comic-Con fodder, but nevertheless, Showtime's panels for Shameless, Homeland and Dexter filled Ballroom 20 for a day-one ending discussion about TV without borders.
Moderated by TV Guide Magazine's L.A. Bureau Chief Michael Schneider, the Shameless leg of the panel teetered on NSFW, as Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy opened up about playing members of TV's most messed up brood. "Just because people have addictions and dysfunction, that doesn't mean there isn't love in the family," said Macy, who began the session with a series of dry-witted comments about preparing to play hard-living alkie Frank Gallagher. Rossum defended the show's copious nudity. "It's nothing but a body!" she said, going on to claim that she feels she has exposed more emotionally playing devoted daughter Fiona than she has physically.
