  • Became the first person to have won Olivier Best Actor Awards for Comedy (Too Clever By Half in 1988), Drama (Peer Gynt in 1996) and a Musical (My Fair Lady in 2003)
  • Famed for portraying royals, he appeared as Prince Charles in 2006 movie The Queen, as Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor in Netflix's The Crown and Leopold I of Belgium in ITV/PBS's period-drama Victoria
