The Fox hit is the first show to repeat in comedy series since Desperate Housewives won two years in a row in 2005 and 2006. Christian Bale won the first award of the night — film supporting actor — for The Fighter. His co-star and on-screen mom, Melissa Leo, won supporting actress.
Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan) took home the lead film acting trophies in drama.
Portman's main Oscar rival, Annette Bening, won comedy film actress for her work in The Kids Are All Right. The movie also won comedy film.
Robert De Niro received the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
