Glee, The Social Network Top Golden Globe Awards

Glee continued to hit high notes at the Golden Globes, winning three trophies, including its second straight award for best comedy series, while The Social Network solidified its status as Oscar front-runner.

The Fox hit is the first show to repeat in comedy series since Desperate Housewives won two years in a row in 2005 and 2006. Stars Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch also won the supporting awards.In film, The Social Network topped the show with four awards: drama film, director (David Fincher), screenplay (Aaron Sorkin), and score (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross).Boardwalk Empire was television's second-biggest winner, picking up two statuettes for TV drama actor for Steve Buscemi and TV drama series. The HBO series ended Mad Men's three-year win streak and prevented an unprecedented four-peat by the ad drama.

Laura Linney (The Big C) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) snagged the trophies for TV comedy actress and actor, respectively, while Sons of Anarchy's Katey Sagal won TV drama actress — the first major awards recognition for the critically acclaimed FX hit.

Christian Bale won the first award of the night — film supporting actor — for The Fighter. His co-star and on-screen mom, Melissa Leo, won supporting actress.

Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan) took home the lead film acting trophies in drama.
Portman's main Oscar rival, Annette Bening, won comedy film actress for her work in The Kids Are All Right. The movie also won comedy film.

Robert De Niro received the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
