Weeds Creator Jenji Kohan Sets Up Women-in-Prison Show with Netflix and Lionsgate

Netflix and Lionsgate TV are finalizing a deal to distribute a 13-episode series from Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, Deadline reports.

Orange Is the New Black chronicles a woman who spends a year in a minimum-security prison after she's convicted in a drug smuggling and money laundering scheme. The series is based on the Piper Kerman memoir of the same name.

Is Dave Chappelle Eyeing a Return to Television?

A report that Dave Chappelle might be heading back to the small screen is "absolutely untrue," Carla Simms, Chappelle's rep, tells Entertainment Weekly.

The online paper The Daily reported earlier Thursday that he planned a new show aimed for a paid subscription service like Netflix, Crackle or Hulu. But Entertainment Weekly also quotes sources close to the comedian as saying he would likely go on a bigger platform than a niche subscription service if he did return to television.
