2014 SAG Awards Predictions: Who Will Win?

The Golden Globes weren't even a week ago, but it's time for more fete-ing at Saturday's 20th Screen Actors Guild Awards (8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on TNT/TBS). Can Breaking Bad continue its win streak? Will American Hustle cement its Oscar front-runner status? Check out our predictions below and tell us yours.

Breaking Bad, Big Bang top SAG nominations
TELEVISION
Drama Ensemble
Will win: Breaking Bad
Add another trophy on the farewell tour. Breaking Bad's dynamite cast has never taken home the ensemble award and this is the last chance their fellow peers have to award them. Given the thunderstorm of chatter, frenzy and affection for the final season, it's hard to see anyone else taking this home. A win would make it the first drama series since Mad Men four years ago to hold the three major TV prizes (Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG).
Watch out for: Downton Abbey
The period drama's massive upstairs/downstairs ensemble upset then-awardsdarling Homeland for the honor last year, so don't count them out.
Comedy Ensemble
Will win: The Big Bang Theory
Don't be shocked if Modern Family becomes the first show to four-peat in this category, but we'll tip Big Bang as it improved in nominations this year with a surprise mention for Mayim Bialik, while the ABC sitcom went down a nod. ModFam fatigue would open the door nicely for TV's biggest comedy to walk through right to the podium.
Watch out for: Veep
Veep is the cool, hip choice, and we already know the industry is smitten with its amusing, acerbic cast after last year's three Emmy acting nominations manifested in two wins.
Drama Actor
Will win: Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
This should be a straightforward back-to-back win for Cranston, whose staggering work in Bad's final episodes ought to be studied for ages. Cranston would be the seventh actor to win two trophies in this category.
Watch out for: Kevin Spacey, House of Cards
Spacey's Machiavellian Frank Underwood is superb and the two-time SAG winner being the sole representative of the Netflix series means voters can funnel all their House of Cards support to him.
Drama Actress
Will win: Kerry Washington, Scandal
Claire Danes could easily repeat, but Homeland's much-maligned season might hurt her. Washington, on the other hand, is on a hot show and adoration for her seems to be multiplying by the second. This category has also been kind to Shonda Rhimes' ladies: Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson both won on their inaugural nominations.
Watch out for: Anna Gunn, Breaking Bad
Gunn, who's coming off an Emmy win, did the hard part snagging the nod in the grouped lead and supporting race. Her volcanic performance will take care of the rest.

SAG Awards surprises and snubs: Big love for Big Bang, but none for Mad Men

Comedy Actor
Will win: Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
We'd never dismiss Baldwin if he's in the running and since the SAGs' special final season rule allowed 30 Rock to be eligible, look for him to eight-peat (yes, eight).Watch out for: Jim Parsons, The Big Bang TheoryThe three-time Emmy champ is only on his second nomination here, but it's clear the SAGs are slowly but surely taking to the show.Comedy ActressWill win: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, VeepJLD and her ambitious, riotously frustrated V.P. will deservedly be voted to the podium. If she wins, Louis-Dreyfus, a past champ here for Seinfeld, would tie Megan Mullally with three wins.Watch out for: Tina Fey, 30 RockShe's not eyeing an eight-peat, but Fey, the defending champ, is the all-time leader in this category with four wins. Will win: Michael Douglas, Behind the CandelabraLook for Douglas to complete his awards sweep for his transfixing turn as Liberace.Watch out for: Matt Damon, Behind the CandelabraPoor Matt. His equally brilliant Scott Thorson has played bridesmaid to Douglas at the Emmys and Golden Globes. At least we know Douglas would split the trophy with him.TV Movie/Miniseries Actress
Will win: Elisabeth Moss, Top of the LakeAs if she's not great already in Top of the Lake, the Golden Globe champ will receive residual love from Mad Men.Watch out for: Helena Bonham Carter, Burton and TaylorBonham Carter's take on the iconic actress is convincing, even if the film is not.

EnsembleWill win: American HustleIf you couldn't tell by the film's Oscar nods in all four acting races (it's only the 15th film to accomplish that feat), Hollywood really likes the con flick. Big stars, big costumes, big performances, a breezy plot and frothy sheen -- it's a formula for easy-to-digest success. Nine of the category's 18 winners have gone on to win Best Picture at the Oscars.Watch out for: 12 Years a Slave
Chiwetel Ejiofor & Co.'s poignant, powerful performances pack the most punch of the whole ensemble lineup.Lead Actor
Will win: Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyers ClubMcConaughey's Texas good ol' boy-turned-rebel do-gooder is a prime example of what the right actor can do with the right part. His mid-career reinvention should also score points with up-and-coming actors in the guild looking for inspiration.Watch out for: Bruce Dern, NebraskaThe SAG Awards loves to respect its elders (since the awards are only 20 years old, most acting legends don't have SAGs), and the veteran character actor fits the bill with a heartrending career performance. Lead ActressWill win: Cate Blanchett, Blue JasmineBlanchett's awards steamroll to the Dolby Theatre ought to continue with her tragicomic woman undone by way of martinis, Xanax and delusion. Fun fact: If she wins, Blanchett, who triumphed in supporting for The Aviator, would join Helen Mirren and Renee Zellweger as the only actresses who've prevailed in both SAG categories.Watch out for: Sandra Bullock, GravityAs much as Gravity is a visual achievement, it would not work without Bullock's terrific performance at its center. Both Bullock and Meryl Streep are vying to be this category's first two-time winner.

Supporting ActorWill win: Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers ClubFew performances this year have been as lovely, funny, tender and heartbreaking as Leto's comeback turn. And who doesn't love a comeback?Watch out for: James Gandolfini, Enough SaidA SAG favorite, the late star holds the record in the TV drama actor race with three wins for The Sopranos. Plus: A surprise, sentimental posthumous win at the SAGs is not unprecedented: Jerry Orbach won for Law & Order in 2005 shortly after he died.Supporting ActressWill win: Jennifer Lawrence, American HustleFlashy and splashy in Hustle, J. Law is not to be underestimated. She's the star of the moment, which only helps her when a broad, massive group like the SAGs is voting. She would be the first person to win a SAG two years in a row since Renee Zellweger 10 years ago.Watch out for: Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years a SlaveShould voters not opt for current star power, they'll go for a raw, devastating star-making turn from Nyong'o. Also keep an eye out on wild card Oprah Winfrey (Lee Daniels' The Butler), whose boozed-up wife is the most baity performance of all.Who do you think will win?
