General Giuseppe Garibaldi did ask for financing for the movement from sources around the globe, he received not only finances, but volunteers as well and in July 1860 launched his famous 1000 Redshirts volunteers to invade Sicily and conquered the Kingdom of Naples fro King Victor Emanuel.
