Episode 1

Ragnar and Lagertha's fleets depart Kattegat once more for Wessex but this time they bring settlers. King Ecbert hosts the Vikings and proposes a deal. Despite the misgivings of some of the other leaders, Ragnar leads his forces into battle once more, but this time as allies of Wessex.

Episode 2

Ragnar's and Kwenthrith's army obliterates her uncle's. Her brother escapes and they set off to find him. King Ecbert gets to know Lagertha more closer. Meanwhile back in Hedeby, Kalf takes over Lagertha's leadership and proclaims himself as Earl. A mysterious man appears in Kattegat after Helga, Aslaug and Siggy all experience the same dream.

Episode 3

Ragnar leads his troops against Princess Kwenthrith's brother Burgred. The battle is short-lived however and Burgred quickly surrenders. Porunn is severely injured in the battle and Ragnar chastises his son Bjorn when he learns that she is pregnant. Despite the victories, all is not well among the Viking warriors and Floki in particular criticizes Ragnar for fighting the Christians' wars. Back at the new settlement, King Ecbert leads a delegation of his noblemen to ceremonies marking the sowing of the first crop. He refuses to listen to any criticism telling his men they have the benefit of Ragnar's army fighting in Mercia. However, even Ecbert is taken aback by the pagan ceremony.

Episode 4

Ragnar and his victorious army return to the new settlement. Aethelwulf tells Floki and Rollo that he's changed his mind about them and wants them all to be friends but Floki doesn't believe him and continues to question their alliance with the Christians. Porunn is recovering from her wounds but is now terribly scarred. In Kattegat, the Wanderer, Harbard, is again called upon to calm Aslaug's baby but Siggy doesn't trust him. He soon seduces Aslaug but tragedy ensues when two of Aslaug's boys wander off onto the ice. In Hedeby, Kalf considers what to do if and when Lagertha returns and welcomes a new ally.

Episode 5

Ragnar and his followers return to Kattegat, and Ragnar learns that while his sons survived falling through the ice, Siggy died saving them. Helga tells Floki about the wanderer who visited them and seduced Auslag. Ragnar decides that they will attack Paris. Lagertha learns that Kalf has taken over her Earldom and demands Ragnar's aid in regaining what is hers. She returns to Hedeby but gets little satisfaction. Rollo consults the Seer, who tells him that he has a great future ahead of him. Porenn is ashamed of her scars and doesn't want to be seen. In Wessex, Judith longs for the absent Athelstan and tells Aethelwulf that she is pregnant. The new Northman settlement comes under attack, but King Ecbert is determined to keep the peace and sends Aethewulf to protect the Northmen. Aethelwulf has something else in mind.

Episode 6

Ragnar's Paris raid planning and preparation are nearly complete with some new arrivals. Athelstan's religious beliefs rise and fall. Floki gets more desperate regarding Athelstan's presence. Rollo and Bjorn have a personal matter to attend to.

Episode 7

The vikings arrive in France and begin constructing their base camp in full view of the citizens of Paris. Ragnar puts Floki in charge of the battle preparations, including finding a way to gain access to the city over the wall they've built. Inside the city, the population is in a panic. Emperor Charles announces that he will remain in the city and puts Count Odo in charge of the city's defenses. In Wessex meanwhile, King Ecbert tells Aethelwulf that he may have to overthrow King Aelle if he is to become king of all of England. Ecbert also casts his lustful eye on his daughter-in-law Judith. Aethewulf is sent to Mercia to ensure Queen Kwenthrith understands she is subjugated to Ecbert. She has something of a surprise for them. In Kattegat, Porunn asks Aslaug to care for her newborn daughter.

Episode 8

The Vikings launch their attack on Paris. Lagertha and Kalf lead the attack on the bridge and the main gate. After their attempt to knock down the gates with a battering ram is unsuccessful, they manage to pull them down but are not prepared for what they find on the other side. Floki strategizes the attack on the wall, but the city's defenses are formidable. As it becomes clear the battle is lost, Floki cannot understand why the gods have deserted him. In Kattegat, Porunn leaves her child with Auslag and goes off into the wilderness.

Episode 9

The vikings are recovering from their wounds after the failed attack on Paris. Ragnar in particular is suffering badly from his wounds. In his dreams, he sees his old friend Athelstan. Led by Rollo, Lagertha and Bjorn the vikings stage a second attack on the city. This time they focus on gaining access over the bridge but are again repelled. The citizens of Parisians are suffering however. The plague has set in and there is a food shortage. Emperor Charles decides to meet with Ragnar to learn what he wants but is surprised at the viking leader's request. In Kattegat meanwhile, Aslaug has to decide what to do with a wandering Christian missionary.

Episode 10
Thu, Apr 23, 201544 mins
Emperor Charles sends Count Odo with the booty that was agreed to but a month later, the vikings have yet to leave. Odo learns that Ragnar is dying and that he would like to have a Christian burial. Ragnar's conversion to Christianity does not sit well with his warriors who all agree that he cannot continue as king now that he has rejected their gods but they are simply biding their time. When the day of Ragnar's funeral arrives, he is taken to the cathedral for the funeral mass. The vikings have a surprise in store for everyone.
