The Hogans head to Paris for a little holiday. David goes to see the city and a girl runs him over with her car. She offers to help him and he finds himself attracted to her. But what he doesn't know is that she's a princess who decides to take a break from her royal duties.

David is getting more serious about Julia but still doesn't know who she really is. Her body guards are still after her, which leads to some narrow escapes.

When David doesn't come back after the date with Julia, the boys try to cover for him. Then Julia's guards finally catch up with her and she seemingly disappears from Dave's life. Julia's true identity is finally revealed.

Michael and the boys think Sandy's ex is taking advantage of her. This time he wants her to take care of his dog when he goes away for a week. The dog is not properly trained and is the dog from hell. Willie wants Dave to be his personal trainer for an athletics race coming up. Willie has trouble adjusting to the rigorous exercise regimen put in place.

Mark and Willie compete for the same girl. The force her to choose and there is one winner and one loser. Dave saves Sandy some money when he buys an exercise bike for her but it need to be assembled, which is not Dave's forte.

Dave is doing a video class project of a 'typical American family' where he is required to record everything that is happening. He chooses the Hogan family but he tries to liven it up when life seems a bit boring. Mark is going for his driver's licence but his overconfidence causes him to have an accident, which shatters him. Only a baby is able to snap him out of it.

Michael takes the family and Mrs Poole fishing. He has all the latest and expensive equipment but doesn't have a bite whilst the others catch all the fish using primitive equipment. Trying to chase some sorority girls, Dave and Burt don a camel suit and ride on a parade float. They fall off and are injured, particularly Dave. They end up in the same ward together but they do not get on together as Dave blames Burt for the seriousness of his injury.

Michael and Dave hire a sander to redo the lounge room floor, which doesn't quite go as planned. Mark is pressured to get Willie a job at Bossy Burger, which he does. Willie keeps mucking up, doesn't take it seriously and Mark keeps covering for him. Then Willie gets promoted over Mark but with his casual attitude he doesn't cope with the responsibility.

As part of his college course Dave makes an instructional video of Mrs. Poole cooking. It goes over so well that the local TV station wants to make it a regular show. However, she freezes when she realises it is going to air live and the second show isn't much better. Michael is concerned about home security and installs a high-tech alarm system, which nobody can operate successfully and continually malfunctions.

Dave has trouble trying to sell his mountain bike and he is forced to compromise. A neighbour breaks up with her boyfriend and she turns to Sandy for some advice. Sandy ends up having to be her friend, and she won't leave Sandy alone.

Sandy (Sandy Duncan) invites the twins teacher (Mark Linn Baker) to stay with the family after he is kicked out of his home.

David breaks a tooth on a pistachio nut and he is very apprehensive about going to the dentist. Sandy goes with him and there is an instant attraction between her and the dentist. They go out on a series of dates.

A snowstorm forces Sandy's visiting parents (Gretchen Wyler, Robert Rockwell) to stay a little longer.

Mike has a flight test coming up and Sandy has a big speech to prepare. This means that they will be very busy for the next two days so Dave is put in charge. He takes the job very seriously. Mark has a confrontation with the new school bully, Frank Kelso, and is forced to write a history paper for him to avoid being beaten up. He doesn't do it so the clash is on.

Skip, an old friend of Michael's suddenly turns up just as Michael is about to go away on a camping trip. He is in town to attend a reunion of his flight school. The overbearing Skip needs a date and Dave volunteers Sandy, but she forces Dave to come as well. At the reunion, Skip is feeling down about his lack of family so Dave puts his foot in it again and says Sandy is his wife and the boys are their sons. Unfortunately, the lie has to keep getting better.

Sandy trips over at a baby shower, falls down some stairs and hits her head. This causes her to completely lose her short term memory. Her inability to remember events causes some awkward situations, especially for Dave.

David smitten with a young woman, develops cold feet when she agrees to go out with him.
Episode 18

Mark is in love with a new girl in his class but she is infatuated with Willie. Willie uses Mark to impress her. Dave is to perform in a charity concert but needs an act. He tries ventriloquism and then magic, both unsuccessfully.

Mon, Feb 26, 1990
Mrs. Poole is on edge as her mother-in-law is coming to stay for a few days at her place. Dave invites her over to the Hogan household but her strident personality gets on everybody's nerves. Dave is eager to buy a new car and sells his old car to Mark and Willie. Unfortunately, it is a lemon and keeps conking out when Dave's ad hoc repairs keep breaking down.

Dave is dismayed because Annie is going home for a visit. Mark is promoted to acting manager at Bossy Burger. When the other workers take advantage of him, he goes overboard. Michael tries to fix a power outlet, but the job gets bigger.

There is a new neighbour who is a bit mysterious and Dave suspects that he is a criminal. Willie employs Mark to tutor him in biology when Michael is furious about his poor results. When he succeeds the teacher accuses him of cheating.

Dave is trying to increase his vocabulary by using big words and is irritating everybody. Sandy's request for funding for a literacy program is denied so she decides to quit. She writes the letter of resignation but doesn't send it. By the next morning she has had second thoughts, but Dave has already posted the letter. Mark and Willie decide to get the letter back before the principal sees it. They are unsuccessful so Dave and Burt have a try.

Sandy organises a caterer for the school prom coming up. However, Dave intervenes and tries to get the price down. All he succeeds in doing is making the caterer walk away from the job. Dave then has a lot of trouble getting another caterer, eventually getting Mrs Poole to help. Willie asks a reluctant Brenda to the prom, which leads to them breaking up after an argument.
