In Season 2 of novelist and creator Nic Pizzolatto's anthology crime drama, the murder of corrupt California politician Ben Caspere spawns a probe that brings together three law-enforcement officers from different jurisdictions—Vinci police detective Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Ventura County Sheriff's Office investigator Antigone "Ani" Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) and California Highway Patrol motorcycle cop and war veteran Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch)—a trio of damaged souls who each have their own closetful of uniquely debilitating skeletons. Meanwhile, career criminal Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn) takes a stab at legitimacy by investing in a high-speed rail project with Caspere, and leans on his history with a compromised Velcoro to find out what happened to the fortune that vanished with his business partner's death. Also appearing are W. Earl Brown, Christopher Baker, Ritchie Coster, James Frain, Michael Hyatt, David Morse, Afemo Omilami, Abigail Spencer and Rick Springfield.
