The sixth season of "Top Chef" takes viewers to Las Vegas, Nevada, where 17 contestants vie for the top prize of $125,000, raised from the previous seasons' $100,000 cash prize, as well as the Fan Favorite Award and the additional $10,000 that goes with it. In line with the Las Vegas theme, contestants determine Quickfire Challenges using popular casino games. They also create dishes inspired by concepts of vice, Las Vegas' status as a top tourist destination, and cuisines popular in the city. The season finale takes place in Napa Valley and features grapes.This season also introduces the High-Stakes Quickfire Challenge. Gail Simmons, Toby Young, and Tom Colicchio return to the judges' table, while Padma Lakshmi resumes hosting duties. Guest judges include Joël Robuchon, Penn and Teller, Tyler Florence, Natalie Portman, Rick Moonen, and Nigella Lawson.
