Acheron: Part I

Returning to Alexandria from a critical food mission, the group realizes it isn't enough. Maggie proposes a new plan, potentially a suicide mission. What choice do they have? They must find more food for all their people in order to survive and efficiently rebuild Alexandria. If they don't, Alexandria falls, taking them down with it. Once on the road, a violent storm erupts forcing them underground into a subway tunnel. As nerves fray and suspicions increase, chaos ensues. The terror is relentless as our people get a glimpse of what Maggie and her group endured prior to returning to Alexandria. Meanwhile, those captured by the strange soldiers are relocated to another undisclosed location.

Acheron: Part II

The group discovers a member did not make it to safety inside the subway car. Surrounded by walkers, going back out into the tunnel to search is a guaranteed death wish. All eyes are on Negan as the rule of survival shifts. It is no longer No Man Left Behind. The motto now is We Keep Going. With very little ammo and energy remaining, the group must ready themselves as the walkers have found a way inside the subway train. Meanwhile, Daryl is in his own intense hellish situation trying to find Dog and finding more than he expected; and Yumiko challenges the process at the Commonwealth outpost, which threatens her future and that of Eugene, Ezekiel, and Princess.

Maggie, Negan and the badly injured Alden survive the attack of the Reapers and they meet each other in a department store. They flee and stumble upon Agatha and Duncan, who is dying. While crossing the woods, they are attacked by walkers and Agatha is bitten by one of them and dies. Meanwhile, Gabriel has also survived and stumbles upon an injured Reaper, who asks for last rites to Gabriel, but receives a shot instead. In Alexandria, Carol, Magna, Rosita and Kelly try to retrieve the horses that escaped from them.

Daryl also survives the attack of the Reapers and while fleeing with Dog, the animal runs and stops with a Reaper on its side. Daryl asks him not to hurt the Dog, and the Reaper removes the mask and it is Leah. She captures Daryl with two other Reapers and he is locked in a cell. He denies that knew the people that was walking on the road and tells her that he joined the group because they had some food, and he was starving. Leah defends Daryl and the leader of the Reapers, Pope, tests Daryl and invites him to join the Reapers.

In Alexandria, Jerry sees a breach on the wall where walkers are invading the compound. The Alexandrians fight the walkers while another group repairs the panel that felt. Aaron, Carol, Lydia and Jerry travel to Hilltop to look for blacksmith tools in the ruins, and they find walkers and a Whisperer among them. Aaron and Jerry interrogate him, and the man lies, allowing other Whisperers to flee. Then they decide to torture the Whisperer named Henry to learn the truth. In Commonwealth, Eugene and his group are accepted by Mercer and allowed to stay with the locals. Eugene is assigned to work as schoolteacher; Ezekiel as animal keeper; Princess as saleswoman; and Yumiko has a VIP invitation. But Eugene does not want to stay and breaks several rules of Commonwealth communicating with Alexandria with Stephanie helping him. They are punished with Ezekiel and Princess by Mercer. Yumiko meets her brother Tomi, who was a surgeon and now is happy working in a bakery making cakes and cookie. Meanwhile, Maggie and Negan fight walkers and reach a safe house. Negan wants to return to Alexandria with a few supplies they scavenged, but Maggie wants to stay and wait for other survivors, but only Gabriel and Alijah arrive.

On the Inside

Connie and Virgil escape from walkers and seek shelter in a house in the woods under siege of walkers. Virgil inspects the house and tells Connie that the place is safe. However, she decides to check by herself and finds eyes looking at her through the cabinet in the bathroom. Soon they learn that they are not alone in the house but surrounded by cannibals. Meanwhile Kelly leaves Alexandria to seek out Connie in a dangerous journey. Carver is interrogating Frost and Pope asks Daryl to take his place and continue to torture him. Daryl severs one of his fingers and Frost discloses the location of the muster point. Leah organizes a search party and invites Daryl to go with them. When Darryl sees Maggie hidden in a house, he distracts Carver and Maggie, Negan, Gabriel and Elijah escape. But when they return to the Meridian, they see that Frost was murdered and Pope tells them that the prisoner disclosed what he wanted before dying.

Promises Broken

After escaping from the Reapers, Maggie, Negan, Gabriel and Elijah discuss how to confront the enemy. They decide to join a herd of walkers to help them, and Negan teaches them how to move together with the zombies. Meanwhile, Eugene, Ezekiel, Princess and Stephanie are forced to clean several buildings from walkers as part of their punishment for unauthorized use of the radio. Yumiko unsuccessfully tries to schedule a meeting with the governor Pamela Milton. Pope orders Leah and Daryl to patrol the area to look for Maggie and her group. However, they stumble upon an innocent man that is taking care of his wounded wife and son, and Pope asks Leah to kill the whole family.

For Blood

Maggie, Negan and Gabriel guide the herd of walkers to Meridian and Pope and his team do not understand their movements. Daryl volunteers to guide them away, but Pope sends Paul instead. But soon Maggie stabs him, and Paul is destroyed by the walkers. Negan and Elijah lead the horde back to Meridian, but there is a minefield protecting the area that creates a havoc. Daryl helps Maggie and Gabriel to break in the Reapers' fortress. Meanwhile, in Alexandria, there is a storm that breaks part of the wall, and a fire in the windmill that the wind rekindles. Aaron divides the few survivors in three groups: one to extinguish the fire, another to fix the wall and the other to protect the Alexandrians from the walkers.

It is Halloween in Commonwealth and Daryl is at the Carnival with Judith and B.J., and the children are having a nice day. Judith befriends the girl Mei that gives a Motorhead's vinyl to her. Kelly and Connie are working at the local newspaper and Princess at a store. Carol is worried about Ezekiel, since his cancer seems to be worsening. She sneaks into the hospital to see Ezekiel's record and stumbles upon Tomi, who tells her that he should be in the top of the surgery list to be saved. Mercer is training several new recruits, including Rosita and Daryl, to be troopers. Pamela will give a masquerade ball to the high society and Max refuses Hornsby's wine. Carol goes to a wine cellar full of expensive wines and walkers and brings several bottles to Hornsby. In return, she asks him to move Ezekiel to the top of the list. During the ball, the former trooper Tyler Davis abducts Max and with a knife on her throat, makes serious accusations to Pamela. Daryl and the troopers chase him, and later they discover a secret room in his house.

Eugene tells Stephanie that he loves her and she says that she loves him too; then he visits Princess and tells her his last encounter with his girlfriend. When he waits for Stephanie at an ice-cream parlor, she never appears. Eugene goes to her apartment, but she never opens the door, packing quietly her suitcases. Rosita goes to her apartment with her fellow trooper, but she does not find her, and advises Eugene to go to the police station to report a missing person. Connie wants to publish Tyler's true story at the ball, but her editor does not allow. Connie and Kelly try to see Tyler at the hospital, but he is isolated in his room by troopers at his door and Mercer inside. Hornsby invites Carol to go with him outside the Commonwealth walls in a wagon to visit a middleman, Moto, in a farm, since he provides the necessary opium to the hospitals. However, he claims that the farmers are asking for a raise in price and holding their harvest. Eugene investigates the disappearance of Stephanie and asks Princess to join him. Carol talks to the farmers and learns the truth about Moto's statement.

Gov. Pamela Milton travels with Hornsby, Mercer Darryl and an entourage to Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside, to confirm the agreement with Alexandria and propose a deal with the other communities. Commonwealth is helping Aaron to rebuild Alexandria and expects to help the other two too. The leader of Oceanside, Rachel, tells Pamela that whatever Maggie agrees, she will concur. Therefore, Pamela talks to Maggie while walking through the woods, trying to convince her. But Maggie declines the offer, and Dianne and other Hilltop's dwellers leave Maggie and travel to live in Commonwealth. Eugene visits Max and tells that he is sorry for his rudeness.

Lydia is leaving Hilltop to join the Commonwealth, and say goodbye to Elijah and Marco, who are guarding the community. Out of the blue, they see a man riding a horse towards Hilltop. They ask him to stop, but the man is wounded with a shot, falls off the horse and gives a map to Lydia telling her that his people was slaughtered. Maggie, Lydia and Eliajah head to the location and stumble upon three zombie troopers. Then they see Aaron, who tells them what happened one week ago. He and Gabriel were recruited by their boss, Carlson, to go with the young Jess to invite a community to join Commonwealth. Although Aaron and Gabriel refuse to go, Carlson says that there is no deal and they must go. Soon they are invited to meet their leader, Ian, who seems to be a dangerous man and tells them that they should leave, since his group is not interested in joining Commonwealth. Out of the blue, Carlson subdues Ian and kills everyone in the room except Aaron, Gabriel and Jess, surprising the survivors.

The Rotten Core

Carlson looks at his victims of the floor that are reanimating and calls Hornsby by radio saying that the place is secure and now he will look for the stolen goods. However, Maggie, Aaron, Lydia and Elijah are hidden inside the building. Meanwhile, Dary and Rosita are assigned to patrol the East wall, and Daryl schedules to have lunch with Carol. However, the troopers Alves and Castle meet Daryl and Rosita and tell them that they should go outside to see a herd of walkers. Soon they learn that Sebastian is who gave the order indeed and they should go to a house surrounded by walkers to bring money from the safe since Pamela cut off his line of credit. When they say no, he threatens their children, and Dary and Rosita go. They cross the horde of walkers and find a woman trapped in the safe. But there is no power to open the safe. Maggie's group stumble upon Annie and they point their guns to each other. Out of the blue, Negan appears and resolves the situation. Maggie and Annie go to each floor to bring survivors and Maggie learns that Annie is pregnant of Negan. Soon Negan listens on the radio that Herschel was hidden in Maggie's truck and a trooper has found him.

Maggie leaves Hilltop with her son Herschel, Elijah and Marco to a Whisperers' hideout where the survivors of Riverbend are. She leaves the reluctant Herschel there and asks Negan to protect her son. Hornsby divides the troopers in two groups and asks the trooper Romano to check a house, sending Daryl, Aaron and Gabriel with them. Later he sends a message to Romano to execute the trio at a junkyard. However, they note the troopers surrounding them and assume it is an ambush. There is a shootout and Daryl, Aaron and Gabriel kill the troopers. At Hilltop, a group of soldiers of Leah enter the building but activate a booby trap that explodes and kills them all. Maggie, Lydia, Elijah and Marco see that Hornby is not there and when they stand up to leave, Marco is hit by Leah that survived the explosion. Soon Hornsby arrives at Hilltop with his troopers and learns that Maggie did not die. Maggie is hunted down by Leah, while Hornsby and his soldiers take over Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside.

A New Deal

Daryl has subdued Hornsby with his knife at his throat when Mercer, Pamela, Carol and Negan arrive. Carol explains that she made a deal with Pamela to clean the name of Sebastian and blame Hornsby for all the crimes. In return, she will provide all they need to rebuild Alexandria and Hilltop. Pamela tells the residents that Hornsby will be brought to justice. The group prepares to pack their stuffs to return to their communities in the Founders Day. However, Eugene and Max plot a plan to frame Sebastian during the party, and she records his words about the residents in Pamela's office. Meanwhile, Shira and Calhoun kill the cleaning crew in a corner following the orders of Hornsby. During the rally, Eugene plays the tape of Sebastian's words, and the cleaning crew resurrects bringing havoc to the population. Sebastian chases Max and pull her onto a walker, but Eugene saves her and Sebastian is bitten instead.

Eugene and Max separate from each other in the crowd, and Daryl brings Eugene to a house to hide him. Pamela orders Mercer to arrest Eugene and bring his friends for interrogation, and leaves Sebastian's body trapped in the morgue. When he reanimates, she asks a soldier to take care of him. Meanwhile, Aaron, Lydia, Jerry and Elijah head to Oceanside with a wagon full of supplies but they stumble upon a herd of walkers. Aaron asks them to go off-road, instead of waiting, as suggested by Jerry. However, the wagon gets stuck, and Jerry injures his knee trying to push and release the wagon. They see a large real estate and decide to stay there for the night. During the night, they see walkers inside the walls, and Aaron believes there are whisperers in the herd. But then he realizes that they are a new breed capable to climb walls and open doors. Rosita is interrogated by Mercer and then she goes to the church, where Daryl and Eugene are hidden. Pamela goes to the jail, where Hornsby is, and locks Sebastian, restrained by chains, with him. She also brings the corpse of Calhoun, gives a machete to Hornsby, and asks him to feed Sebastian. Eugene decides to turn himself in and say that he worked alone.

What's Been Lost

Carol is talking to Ezekiel at the bakery where she works, when he vanishes. Then she is attacked by two men, but she succeeds to escape. She seeks out Daryl and finds him fighting a man. Then they realize that everybody from their group has been kidnapped and are missing, even Dog. Carol believes that Hornsby may know here their friends are. Meanwhile, Pamela threatens Yumiko, using her brother Tomi, to force her to prosecute Eugene. Daryl and Carol subdue the soldiers in the jail and release Hornsby, who agrees to show where their friends are. They leave Commonwealth and after many problems along their journey, Carol and Darul learn from Hornsby that there is a train working to connect communities and their friends probably are there.

Outpost 22

Maggie, Rosita and Gabriel are transported in a truck with hoods covering their heads. Maggie wakes up and notes that the soldier that is guarding them is asleep. She breaks free from her cuff and wakes up Gabriel and Rosita, releasing their hands from the zip cuffs. Gabriel and Rosita jump from the truck in movements, but the guard wakes up and holds Maggie. They fight over his gun that accidentally shots and kills the driver. Maggie flees before the rest of the convoy arrive. Gabriel and Rosita wake up on the next morning and their former guarder, who is now a walker, approaches but they kill him, and they get his weapon and radio and learns that other soldiers are coming hunting them down. The rest of the prisoners are taken to a forced labor camp, and the Warden threatens and humiliates them. He selects a group to clear the railroad tracks and another group to be sent to another location. Daryl and Carol confront the soldiers in the train and rescue Connie. Meanwhile, the escapees follow the train whistle, and they stumble upon Daryl and Carol. They wish to know where Outpost 22 and what Designation 2 is, and a wounded soldier that used to go to Gabriel's church explains him what he heard about Designation 2 before dying. Rosita poses as a soldier using the radio and learns where the Outpost 22 is.

While working at the railroad tracks, Negan and Kelly observe the behavior of the Warden and the guards and Magna prepares a map. Princess notes that the former trooper Tyler Davis is one of the prisoners and tells Ezekiel. Negan offers to work and extra shift to a soldier provided his pregnant wife rests and works less but another soldier hits him, and Annie is subdued trying to protect her husband. Aaron, Jerry, Lydia and Elijah stumble upon Luke and Jules in the woods, who are fleeing Oceanside. Luke tells them that the Commonwealth soldiers have taken Oceanside, and Aaron and the group do not understand since they have an agreement with them. Eugene's trial begins and Pamela tells the audience that Eugene had tampered the tape since that was not the voice of Sebastian. Negan and Ezekiel approaches to Tyler Davis at the messroom and invite him and his people to join the riot they are scheduling, but Davis declines the offer. The Warden summons Negan and asks him who is the leader of the group that has prepared the map he found, and Negan says that everybody hates him. The Warden assigns Negan to find who the leader is. Early in the morning, he gathers all the prisoners to watch Negan be killed by a firing squad. Meanwhile, Daryl's group breaks in Alexandria through the sewer.

Mercer secretly brings Eugene to Max and Yumiko. He is said to be hiding in an apartment until further action has been clarified. Meanwhile, a group led by Maggie, Negan and Daryl take the train to take down Pamela for good. They bring the missing people back to the Commonwealth. There, an angry crowd is already protest in front of Pamela's office and demanding.

Rest in Peace

The horde that invaded Commonwealth kills Julie and Luke is bitten in the leg but does not survive, and Tomi treats Judith. Gabriel, Rosita and Eugene rescue Coco and the other children and flee to an apartment, However, Rosita secretly tells Eugene that she was bitten by a walker. Princess and Max release Mercer from the jail, and he goes leading the men to the gates of the Estates, where Pamela and the soldiers commanded by Vickers to not let the population come inside to escape from the walkers. Maggie is ready to shoot Pamela with her sniper rifle, but Mercer assumes the command, arrests Pamela and let people in. Then the residents flee and Mercer and his team blows-up the Estates with fuel and explosives. Pamela is imprisoned and Maggie talks to Negan telling him that she will never forgive him, but he had acquired the right to live with them. One year later, Ezekiel and Mercer are the governors of the Commonwealth.
